AHS Engagement & Patient Experience DST Program

In 2015, Mike started the Digital Storytelling @ Alberta Health Services (AHS) Program in partnership with the Engagement & Patient Experience Department of Quality and Healthcare Improvement. AHS is the single healthcare provider in the province of Alberta with over 100,000 employees, and one of their strategic priorities is to become more patient- and family-centered as an organization. This program is ongoing, and since its inception Mike has facilitated the creation of over 100 Digital Stories for Health Care Quality Improvement initiatives around the organization. The success of this program has been the foundation of his current research activities around the use of Digital Storytelling to create meaningful change in health care systems.
